Summary
A feather banded walnut chest on stand, English, 2nd quarter of the 18th century with alterations. The top section with moulded cornice and three short and three long derawers, the stand with three drawers around an arcaded apron and raised on later turned legs and pad feet. Later brass handles.
Provenance
Given to the National Trust along with Stourhead House, its grounds, and the rest of the contents by Sir Henry Hugh Arthur Hoare, 6th Bt (1865 – 1947) in 1946.
