Summary
Coloured chalks on paper, Helen of Troy (after Guido Reni) by William Hoare of Bath, RA (Eye 1707 – Bath 1792). Head and shoulders of a young woman with jewelled headband over plaited hair, wearing classical robes. After the copy, formerly at Stourhead, but given in 1907 to the Victoria Art Gallery, and now in the Guildhall, Bath, of The Rape of Helen by Guido Reni in the Louvre.
