Summary
Watercolour on paper laid on canvas, The Ruins of the Forum of Nerva with the Colonacce by Abraham Louis Ducros (Yverdon, Switzerland 1748 – Lausanne 1810). A curious feature in the case of the present drawing is that the major part of it is on a piece of paper stuck to the sheet below, the sides cut parallel and within that sheet, except at the top where it follows the lines of the architecture. Remounted by Holburne Museum, 1972 (now backed by canvas; not inscribed).
Makers and roles
Abraham-Louis-Rodolphe Ducros (1748 - 1810), photographer
