Summary
Watercolour and bodycolour with varnish on several pieces of paper laid down on canvas, The Stables of the Villa Maecenas, by Abraham Louis Ducros (Yverdon, Switzerland 1748 – Lausanne 1810). A view of the interior of the so-called Villa of Maecenas, or Temple of Hercules at Tivoli, with a torrent cascading outside; described by Colt Hoare as a "souterrain view". Two pen drawings on tracing paper, Lausanne; watercolour (a reduced version of this composition), Lausanne.

Given to the National Trust along with the house, its grounds, and the rest of the contents by Sir Henry Hugh Arthur Hoare, 6th Bt (1865 – 1947) in 1946
