Summary
A set of four covered ice pails, soft paste porcelain painted in enamels and gilded, Chelsea-Derby Porcelain (fl.1769-1784), Derby, England, circa 1775. The bodies with shell-form handles, blue and gold bands and monogrammed 'RH', probably for Sir Richard Hoare, 1st Bt of Barn Elms (1735-1787), the lids with open knobs. Bases marked in puce with a crowned 'D'.
