Summary
Oil painting on canvas, George Fownes Luttrell (1826 - 1910) by Cyrus Johnson (Cambridge 1848 - London 1925), signed and dated Cyrus Johnson 1877. A three-quarter-length portrait of the son of Lt-Col Francis Luttrell and husband of Anne Hood, seated to right, in morning coat, holding a newspaper. He employed Salvin as architect for the Castle.
Provenance
In Dunster Castle inventory, 1910, p.40 as in the Library. Previously on loan, 1975; gift of Lt -Col Geoffrey Walter Fownes Luttrell (1919 – 2007) to the National Trust in 1981.
