Summary
An unusual mahogany breakfront library bookcase, of narrow proportions, English, circa 1765. The top section with a moulded cornice above four glazed doors enclosing adjustable shelves, now covered for use as a display cabinet. The lower section has a retractable central sliding writing drawer, supported on square section legs with a baize lined slide enclosing a compartmented interior and with a further slide above and three drawers below flanked by a pair of narrow paneled cupboard doors enclosing a fitted interior for folio divisions, now missing. Raised on bracket feet.
