Summary
Oil painting on oak panel, The Virgin and Child with Saint Mary Magdalene, Italian (Marchigian) School, mid 16th century, previously attributed to Francesco Francia (Bologna c.1450 – Bologna 1517). The female saint, who has been called variously St Anne or the Mary Magdalen, on the left, is holding a fig or a pear.

Bought by Wiggett Chute, April 1847, for £20 (?as by Francia?); 1880s Notes, as in the Chapel Parlour, one of the two: "Sacred Pictures: Corregio [sic], Francia"; bequeathed with The Vyne, estate and contents by Sir Charles Chute, 1st Bt (1879-1956)
