Provenance
Probably commissioned by John Chute (1701-1776). Placed in the Oak Gallery by William Lyde Wiggett Chute (1800-1879) and by descent to Sir Charles Chute. Donated to The National Trust with the Vyne Estate by Sir Charles Chute in 1956.
