Summary
Spoon after a Chinese spoon, soft-paste porcelain, navette-shaped bowl with flat base and grooved handle terminating in a rosette, painted in underglaze blue with formal leaf and flower pattern in the Oriental manner, base painted with mark '2' (?), probably Lowestoft, c. 1770. Ensuite with NT 718496. The form is more frequently found in Worcester porcelain, c. 1765 (NT 718492-4), but is also known in Caughley porcelain pierced (see Caughley Society Newsletter, no.31 (Sept.200), p.20) and Bow porcelain. A Lowestoft example was in the Geoffrey Godden Reference Collection.
