Summary
A late 18th century/early 19th century pole screen stand (a) with an elongated octagonal glazed screen (b) set with an embroidery of flowers in a basket (faded), the moulded surround highlighted in white on a grained ground. The pole issuing from an incurving triangular base raised on 3 acroterian feet (of iron), these tapering up to a baluster, supported by 3 incurving square section flying buttress supports, with circular medallions and balls. The whole of this substructure to the pole grained as rosewood and lined and decorated with anthemions in white. The screen fixings (of brass) detached from the screen. Tattered remnants of scarlet silk damask backing to the screen.
