Summary
German stoneware beer mug. 15th century. Probably made at Raeren; wheel-thrown with hand-modelled 'frilly foot' base and salt-glazed; good traveller because virtually indestructible (sic) because fired at high temperature. This specimen likely to have been 'seconds' i.e. flawed pottery being exported.
