Summary
A vinyl record, the album Different Class by Pulp. The record contains twelve songs with six on each side. There is a white circular paper label in the centre of each side on which the album title and artists name are printed in silver. Pulp are a British rock band who formed in Sheffield in 1978. Their most commercially successful line up which plays on this record features Jarvis Cocker (vocals, guitar and keyboards), Russell Senior (guitar and violin), Candida Doyle (keyboards), Nick Banks (drums), Steve Mackey (bass) and Mark Webber (guitar and keyboards). They rose to prominence in the mid 1990’s as part of the Britop movement before splitting up in 2002. They have reformed to record and perform on various occasions since 2002, most recently in 2025. Different Class was the fifth studio album released by the band. It was recorded with the producer Chris Thomas at the Townhouse Studio in London between 18th January and 28th July 1995 and was released by Island Records on 30th October 1995. The album contained four of the bands top ten selling singles and was widely praised on its release winning, going on to win the annual Mercury Music Prize in 1996.
