Summary
A vinyl record, one of two that comprise the self titled double album by Gorillaz. This record contains the songs nine to sixteen of the sixteen that are on the album in total, with four on each side. There is a circular paper label in the centre of each side of the record that features a camouflage pattern design with ‘GORILLAZ’ printed across the top in red with the song titles for each side printed in white at the bottom. Gorillaz are a virtual fictional rock band created by the musician Damon Albarn of the band Blur and the illustrator and artist Jamie Hewlett. The four fictional members of the band are 2-D, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle and Russel Hobbs and they were created in 1998. This double album was the band debut long playing record and was recorded at Studio 13 in London and Geejam Studio in Jamaica between 1998 and 2000. It featured performances from guest musicians including Ibrahim Ferrer, Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz and was produced by Daniel Nakamura (Dan The Automator). The record was released on the Parlophone record label on 26th March 2001.
