Summary

A vinyl record, the album Rastaman Vibration by Bob Marley and The Wailers. The album contains ten songs with five on each side of the record. There is a circular orange, yellow and blue label in the centre of each side of the record. These labels have the album title printed at the top with a list of the song titles for each side printed below. There are songwriting credits and song durations listed in brackets beside each song title. There is a green palm tree logo at the bottom left of the labels and the records catalogue number (ILPS 9383) is printed to the right of centre. The Wailers were a Jamaican ska, rocksteady and reggae band who formed in 1963 initially comprised of Robert (Bob) Nesta Marley, Winston Hubert McIntosh (Peter Tosh) and Neville Livingston (Bunny Wailer). McIntosh and Livingston left the band in 1974 but Marley continued with a new lineup that included renowned Jamaican musicians Aston Barrett, Carlton Barrett and Junior Murvin, now marketed as Bob Marley and The Wailers. Marley came to be considered as one of the pioneers of Jamaican and reggae music, introducing it to a worldwide audience and becoming its first global superstar. He also popularised the Rastafari religion and commented on social issues, advocating for the legalisation of cannabis and supporting Pan Africanism. Marley died of cancer in May 1981 after which the band split. Rastaman Vibration was the eighth studio album by Bob Marley and The Wailers. It was recorded at the Harry J. and the Joe Gibbs studios in Jamaica and was self produced by the band. The record was released by Island Records.
