Summary

A vinyl record, the album Parallel Lines by Blondie. The album contains twelve songs with six songs on each side. There is a circular blue and white paper label in the centre of each side. At the top of each of these labels there is a list of song titles for each side of the record with song writing credits and song durations listed after the titles. At the bottom of each label there is a white butterfly Chrysalis Records logo and the records catalogue number (CDL 1192) is printed to the right of centre on both labels. Blondie are an American rock band formed in 1974 in New York by Deborah Harry and Chris Stein. They were at the forefront of the American ‘New Wave’ scene which emerged out of the New York clubs CBGB’s and Max’s Kansas City in the mid 1970’s. They were initially active until 1982 when the band split up but they reformed in 1997 and continue to record and perform regularly. Parallel Lines was the third studio album recorded by Blondie and featured what many consider to be the bands classic line up: Jimmy Destri (keyboards), Frank Infante (guitar), Chris Stein (guitar), Nigel Harrison (bass), Clem Burke (drums) and Deborah Harry (vocals). The album was recorded at the Record Plant studio in New York, was produced by Michael Chapman and released on the Chrysalis Records label.
