Summary
A cardboard sleeve for a vinyl record, the album We Thank Thee by Jim Reeves. The front cover of the sleeve has a colour photograph of Reeves standing by a tree. He is dressed in a red cardigan, white shirt and dark trousers. The records catalogue number (LPM-2552) is printed in the front top left corner with an RCA Victor logo in the top right corner. At the centre left of the front of the sleeve, the song titles on the record are printed in black lettering. The rear of the sleeve is white and contains some printed text about Jim Reeves and the record, written by Pat Twitty. The song titles on each side or the record are listed down the right hand edge with a list of other RCA Victor albums recorded by Jim Reeves printed underneath. The records catalogue number is printed in both the top left and right corners on the rear of the sleeve and also on the spine alongside the album title.
Provenance
Cardboard sleeve for a vinyl record, the album We Thank Thee recorded by Jim Reeves and released on the RCA Victor label in 1962. Purchased by the National Trust Museum of Childhood as part of the Collecting Cultures Exploring Childhoods project.
