Summary
A vinyl record, the album Horses by Patti Smith. The record contains eight songs, with four on each side. There is a circular black paper label in the centre of each side which both have blue Arista Records logos at the top and a list of song titles in white lettering at the bottom. The name of the songwriter of each song is listed in brackets beside each title. The records catalogue number (ARTY 122) is printed to the right of centre on each label. Patricia (Patti) Lee Smith is an American singer, songwriter, poet, painter, author and photographer who rose to prominence in the mid 1970’s New York punk rock music scene. Horses was her debut studio album and was recorded at the Electric Lady studio in New York. It was produced by John Cale, a member of the band The Velvet Underground and was released on the Arista Records label.

Vinyl record recorded by Patricia (Patti) Lee Smith between the 2nd and 18th September 1975 and released by Arista Records on November 10th 1975. Purchased by the National Trust Museum of Childhood via Discogs on 8th September 2020 as part of the Collecting Cultures Exploring Childhoods project.
