Summary
A vinyl record, the album ‘That'll Be The Day’ by Buddy Holly. The record contains eleven songs, with six songs on Side One and five on Side Two. There is a red circular paper label in the centre on each side. These labels have an Ace Of Hearts logo at the top with a list of song titles and songwriting credits at the bottom. The records catalogue number (AH 3) is printed to the right of centre on each label. Charles Hardin (Buddy) Holly (1936 - 1959) was an American singer and songwriter who was amongst the central figures in the development of rock ‘n’ roll music in the 1950’s, frequently performing with his backing group The Crickets. He was killed in a plane crash on February 3rd 1959 aged only twenty two. That’ll Be The Day was the second studio album by Buddy Holly. It was recorded at Bradley Studios in Nashville, USA and was produced by Owen Bradley. The album was originally released on the Decca Records label but this UK version was released by Ace Of Hearts.

Vinyl record recorded by Buddy Holly in January, July and November 1956. UK version of the album released by Ace Of Hearts Records in October 1961. Purchased by the National Trust Museum of Childhood via Discogs on 1st September 2020 as part of the Collecting Cultures Exploring Childhoods project.
