Summary
A paper sleeve for a shellac 78rpm record by Frankie Laine featuring the songs ‘I Believe’ and ‘Your Cheatin’ Heart’. The brown sleeve has ‘PHILIPS PRESENT The Records of the Century’ printed in blue lettering at the top of each side immediately above a circular hole in the sleeve. Below the hole on each side there is a Philips logo and on one side to either side of the circular hole are printed the names of various recording artists and singers including Gracie Fields, Percy Faith, Frankie Laine and Frank Sinatra.
Provenance
Paper sleeve for a shellac 78rpm record recorded by Frankie Laine and released by Philips Electrical in 1953. Purchased by the National Trust Museum of Childhood via Discogs on 6th August 2020 as part of the Collecting Culture Exploring Childhoods project.
