Summary
A vinyl record, the album ‘Thriller’ by Michael Jackson. The record contains nine songs with four on side one and five on side two. There is a circular paper label in the centre of each side. At the top of these labels is a logo for Epic, with the record title and artists name printed immediately below and slightly to the right. Towards the bottom of each label is a list of the song titles on each side of the record with songwriting credits listed to the side of each title. On the right hand side of each label is the records catalogue number, ‘EPC 85930’. Michael Jackson was an American singer, songwriter and dancer who became known as ‘The King Of Pop’. He originally found fame performing with his four brothers in the group The Jackson Five before embarking on a solo career in 1971. He died in June 2009. Thriller was his sixth solo studio album. It was recorded at the Westlake Studio in Los Angeles by producer Quincy Jones and released on the Epic label. Thriller is the biggest selling album of all time and is estimated to have sold over seventy million copies worldwide.

Vinyl record recorded by Michael Jackson between April and November 1982. Released by Epic on November 29th 1982. Purchased by the National Trust Museum of Childhood via Discogs on 6th March 2020 as part of the Collecting Cultures Exploring Childhoods project.
