Summary
A protective paper sleeve for the shellac 78rmp record containing the songs 'Here In My Heart' and ‘I Cried Myself To Sleep' by Al Martino. The sleeve is made of brown paper with red trim at the edges and a circular hole in the centre. Above the central hole on one side are printed the words 'HIS MASTER'S VOICE' and below the central hole on the same side is the HMV logo of a dog looking at a gramophone player. On either side of the central hole on this side there is an ink stamp for Anthony D'Amato, 98 St John Str., Valletta, Malta' a distributor for HMV and MGM records. On the other side of the sleeve there are further printed stamps for Anthony D'Amato at the top and details of other recordings available on HMV Records are printed in red type.
Provenance
Paper sleeve for a 78rpm shellac record by Al Martino released in April 1952 by Capitol Records. Purchased by the National Trust Museum of Childhood via Discogs on 7th August 2020 as part of the Collecting Cultures Exploring Childhoods project.
