Summary
A shellac 78rpm record featuring the songs ‘Here In My Heart’ and ‘I Cried Myself To Sleep’ by Al Martino. The record has a circular paper label in the centre of each side. These labels have a Capitol Records logo printed at the top with the title of the song on that side of the record printed below. The surnames of the songwriters are printed in brackets underneath the song title on each side. To the sides in the centre of each label are catalogue numbers CAP.9968 and CL.13779 are printed. Al Martino, real name Jasper Cini, was an American traditional pop and jazz singer who achieved success between the mid 1950’ s and the mid 1970’s. He later became an actor and played the part of Johnny Fontane in the film ‘The Godfather’. His recording of the song ‘Here In My Heart’ made history by becoming the first Number One single in the UK Singles Chart on 14th November 1952.
