Summary
The original cardboard box for a doll of the Disney character Fa Mulan and various accessories manufactured by Mattel Inc. The box is yellow and red with a large see through cellophane window on the front through which the doll and accessories can be seen. ‘Disney Mulan’ is printed in red lettering at the bottom centre on the front of the box and there is a colour image of Fa Mulan with her horse Khan at the bottom right and another of her riding Khan at the bottom left. On the rear of the box there is a large colour image of Fa Mulan riding Khan and three smaller images showing various features of the doll and accessories. There are trademark logos for Mattel on the front, top and sides of the box with ‘MATTEL’ in white capital letters inside a red circular background. The catalogue number for the doll (18994) is printed next to all of these logos.
Provenance
Original box for doll and acessories manufactured by Mattel Inc in 1997. Purchased by the National Trust Museum of Childhood via ebay in September 2020 as part of the Collecting Cultures Exploring Childhoods project.
