Summary
The original cardboard box packaging for a ‘Barbie Hawaii Steven character doll manufactured by Mattel Inc. The front of the box is pink with a large see through cellophane window through which the doll can be seen. The rear of the box has a colour image of a beachside scene featuring Steven and other dolls from the series. There are Mattel logos on the front, ends, sides and rear of the box with ‘MATTEL’ in white letters on a circular red background. The dolls number (24620) is printed next to all of these logos. The box contains a pull out blue and yellow cardboard drawer in which the doll is housed.
Provenance
Original box for doll manufactured by Mattel Inc. in 1999. Purchased by the National Trust Museum of Childhood via ebay in September 2020 as part of the Collecting Cultures Exploring Childhoods project.
