Summary
A plastic replica wheelchair, one of the accessories included with a ‘Share A Smile Becky’ doll from the Barbie series of dolls manufactured by Mattel. The chair has a purple frame with a peach coloured seat and arm rests. There are two curved handles behind the seat to allow for the chair to be pushed and these have peach coloured hand grips. On the front at the bottom of the frame there are two black plastic foot rests and the chair has two large wheels with rubber tyres at the rear with two smaller wheels at the front, also with rubber tyres. The two front wheels are moveable. Stamped on the underside of the seat is a 1995 copyright for Mattel Inc. and the country of manufacture, Malaysia. Stamped on the underside of the foot rest is the number ‘15761-2369’.
Provenance
Accessory included with a Becky doll manufactured by Mattel Inc. in 1996. Purchased by the National Trust Museum of Childhood via ebay in August 2020 as part of the Collecting Cultures 'Exploring Childhoods' project.

Unxderside of seat: Stamped on the underside of the seat is a 1995 copyright for Mattel Inc. and the country of manufacture, Malaysia. Underside of footrest: Stamped on the underside of the foot rest is the number ‘15761-2369’.
