Summary
The original cardboard box packaging for a ‘Share A Smile Becky’ doll from the Barbie series of dolls manufactured by Mattel. The front of the box has a large cellophane window through which the doll and its various accessories can be viewed, contained in a pull out cardboard drawer decorated in yellow and green to appear like a garden scene. The rear of the box has a colour image of ‘Becky’ in her wheelchair with her friends Barbie and Christie. This image is also on the two ends of the box. The front, rear and both ends of the box feature a Mattel logo with the dolls number (15761) printed immediately above it. Inside on end of the box the number 15761 and 0910 are printed in large black font.
Provenance
Original cardboard box for Becky doll manufactured by Mattel Inc in 1996. Purchased by the National Trust Museum of Childhood via ebay in August 2020 as part of the Collecting Cultures 'Exploring Childhoods' project.
