Summary
A Rosa Parks character doll from the Barbie Inspiring Women series of dolls by Mattel. The brown plastic doll has dark hair and its head, arms and legs are all moveable. She is dressed in a black textile hat with a white flower emblem on the front, a long grey textile coat, a flower pattern textile dress and a pair of white textile gloves. She is wearing grey plastic shoes and a pair of plastic glasses. Rosa Parks (1913 – 2005) was a black American civil rights activist. She is best known for refusing to leave her seat on a bus in Montgomery Alabama, when ordered to vacate it for a white passenger in December 1955.

Manufactured by Mattel Inc. in 2019. Purchased by the National Trust Museum of Childhood in September 2020 via ebay as part of the Collecting Cultures 'Exploring Childhoods' project.
