Summary
A Pokémon Red Version video game cartridge. The red plastic cartridge has a colour label stuck in the centre of one side that has the ‘POKÉMON' trademark in yellow letters above a colour image of a character from the game. At the bottom left of the label is a red Nintendo trademark logo and printed on the side of the label is 'DMG-APAU-EUR'. On the other side of the label is printed the instruction 'THIS SIDE OUT'. In black letters. The cartridge is contained in a protective plastic box. Pokémon is a series of video games developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo.
Provenance
Manufactured in Japan for Nintendo Co. Ltd in 1999. Purchased by the National Trust Museum of Childhood via ebay on 17th September 2020 as part of the Collecting Cultures 'Exploring Childhoods' project.
