Summary
A textile/plush cuddly toy of the Pokémon character Charizard manufactured by Nintendo/Game Freak. The toy is predominantly coloured orange but has a yellow chest and two wings which are coloured green on the front side. The eyes are white and green eyes and there are four white teeth at the front of the snout. The tail has a small area of red feathery material at its tip. The toy has two arms and two small feet which have three toes/claws. There is a white label attached to the bottom of the toy which has printed trademark and copyright details on one side and washing instructions on the reverse. The number '91751' is also printed on the label. Pokémon is a series of video games developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo.
Provenance
Manufactured in China for Nintendo/Game Freak in 1998. Purchased by the National Trust Museum of Childhood via ebay on 24th March 2020 as part of the Collecting Cultures 'Exploring Childhoods' project.
Marks and inscriptions
Bottom of toy: White label stitched to side of toy with printed copyright/trademark details on one side and washing instructions on the other. Also the number '91751' is printed on one side.
