Summary
A textile/plush cuddly toy of the Pokémon character Snorlax manufactured by Nintendo/Game Freak. The toy is coloured pale yellow on its front and blue/green on its back. There are three black lines on its face to denote its eyes and mouth and a pointed white tooth can be seen at either end of the mouth. The toy has yellow feet which have a circular brown area on the sole. Both feet are moveable and have three white textile claws on the end. Both arms are also moveable and have four white textile claws. There is a white label attached to the rear of the toy. This has printed trademark and copyright details on one side and washing instructions on the reverse. The number '91861' is also printed on the label. Pokémon is a series of video games developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo.
Provenance
Manufactured in China for Nintendo/Game Freak in 1998. Purchased by the National Trust Museum of Childhood via ebay on 24th March 2020 as part of the Collecting Cultures 'Exploring Childhoods' project.
Marks and inscriptions
Side of toy: White label stitched to side of toy with printed copyright/trademark details on one side and washing instructions on the other. Also the number '91861' is printed on one side.
