Summary
A cream, mixed fibre, round necked Beatles themed jumper/sweatshirt. In the centre on the front of the jumper/sweatshirt there is a colour print of the Beatles band members (John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr) taken from their 1968 animated musical adventure film ‘Yellow Submarine’. Below this ‘The Beatles’ is printed in large yellow letters and below that there is a print of the Yellow Submarine on a blue background. Inside the jumper/sweatshirt there is a label with the size printed on it (‘6’) and a second label with details of how to wash the item. The Beatles were an English pop group formed in Liverpool in 1960 whose members were John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. Known as ‘The Fab Four’ their recording career lasted until 1970 and they are considered by many to be the most influential band of all time.

Originally manufactured circa 1980's. Purchased by the National Trust Museum of Childhood from Omega Auctions on 24th March 2020 as part of the Collecting Cultures 'Exploring Childhoods' project.
