Summary
A cardboard box containing fifty sachets of Beatles themed hair pomade. The lid of the box is yellow with a red circle in its centre, inside which is printed 'THE BEATLES HIGHEST QUALITY Hair POMADE' and around which are colour images of the heads of the four Beatles band members (John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr) and various musical notes that are printed in green. On the sides of the box are printed details of the manufacturer (H.H Chemical & Ind MFG, San Juan, Metro, Manila) and on the ends are printed its contents (3 Grams, 50 PKGS). On the rear of the box is a colour image of The Beatles wearing blue suits with ‘THE BEATLES HAIR POMADE’ printed in blue and red letters above it. In the bottom left corner of the rear of the box there is a logo of red and blue crescent moons with ‘HH’ written in the centre. Inside the box thin cardboard dividers have been used to create a number of sections inside which the sachets of pomade are stored. Pomade is a greasy wax or water based substance that is used to style hair, generally giving it a slick and shiny appearance. The Beatles were an English pop group formed in Liverpool in 1960 whose members were John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. Known as ‘The Fab Four’ their recording career lasted until 1970 and they are considered by many to be the most influential band of all time.
