A character doll of the pop singer Boy George made by Ljn Toys in its original cardboard box packaging. The doll is dressed in a white textile kimono type garment that has numbers printed on it in red and black; this is worn over a blue top. The doll has long brown hair with two pieces of hair being braided and with red and yellow ribbons tied to them. The doll is wearing red boots and is holding a blue microphone it is left hand. The front cover of the box has 'Boy George' printed at the top in pink letters and colour images of George down the right hand side. It has a cellophane window through which the doll can be seen. There are other colour images of George on the rear and on one side of the box. A rainbow Ljn logo is printed on all sides and ends of the box together with the dolls number #7700. There is a bar code on the bottom end of the box. The doll comes with a hat, a microphone and a posing stand. Boy George (George Alan O’ Dowd) was born in 1961 and is a British singer, songwriter and DJ who has also worked in fashion design. He was originally known for his androgynous appearance and formed the band Culture Club in the early 1980’s, becoming a key part of the New Romantic movement of that era.
