Summary
An original copy of the DC comic book The Flash Vol. 2. No. 53 published in August 1991. The comic book features the characters Flash and Superman in the story ‘Fast Friends’ written by William Messner-Loebs. The front cover illustration is by Dan Jurgens and shows Flash and Superman side by side. At the top of the cover ‘FLASH’ is printed in large red letters and next to this is printed ‘GUEST-STARING-SUPERMAN’ in smaller black and red letters. In the top left corner there is a DC Comics logo and immediately below this are printed the comics issue number (53), publication date (AUG 91) and its US ($1.00), Canadian ($1.25) and UK (50p) prices. Immediately to the right of the prices ‘WATCH THE FLASH SATURDAY NIGHTS ON CBS TV!’ is printed inside a small circle in black letters on an orange background. In the top right corner there is a logo showing that the comic is approved by the Comics Code Authority. In the bottom right hand corner there is a trademarked Flash logo and next to this is printed ‘BY MESSNER-LOEBS, LaROCQUE & MARZAN’ denoting the writer William Messner-Loebs and two artists who produced the drawings for the story, Greg LaRocque and Jimmy Marzan Jr. To the left of Flash on the cover illustration ‘Jurgens & Marzan’ is written inside a circle on a yellow background. On the rear page of the comic book is an advert for Atari games. The comic book is contained in a cellophane envelope. DC Comics is an American comic book publisher founded in 1934. Its comics feature iconic characters including Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman.
