Summary
An original copy of the Marvel Comics comic book Captain Marvel Volume 2 No. 1 published in November 1989. The comic book features the character Captain Marvel in the story ‘The Dream Is True’ written by Dwayne McDuffie. The front cover has an illustration of Captain Marvel rising above a city skyline drawn by Mark Bright, with a Spiderman face logo in the bottom left corner. In the top left corner there is a further illustration of Captain Marvel and below this are printed the UK (60p) US ($1.50) and Canadian ($2.00) prices of the comic plus the issue number (1) and month of publication (Nov). Next to the prices there is a logo showing that the comic is approved by The Comics Code Authority. On the rear of the comic book there is an advert for the 'Monstrous Compendium' published by TSR. The comic book is contained in a protective cellophane envelope. Marvel Comics is the publisher of American comic books that feature a range of super hero characters including Captain Marvel, Spiderman, Thor, The X-Men and The Fantastic Four. Marvel Comics was started in 1939 by Martin Goodman.
