Summary
A plastic replica Batmobile toy car, manufactured by Mego toys. The body of the car is black with 'Batman' stickers on each door. These have text in yellow letters on a red and white background. The seats and dashboard of the car are red and there are three silver exhausts on the rear. There are silver lights at the front and a red strip across the rear end. The wheels are black with sliver centres in the middle of which there is a red image of a bat. On the red underside of the car there are printed copyright and manufacturing details in small print. Batman is a fictional superhero who appears in comic books published by DC Comics. The character was created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger and first appeared in 1939. The Batmobile is the car driven by Batman in his fight against crime in Gotham City.

Made by The Mego Corporation circa 1974. Purchased by The National Trust Museum Of Childhood via Ebay on 16th February 2020 as part of the Collecting Cultures 'Exploring Childhoods' project.
