Summary
A soft toy Kangaroo (named Kanga) light brown in colour with brown glass eyes, a nose and mouth picked out in black cotton and black cotton marking her paws on arms and legs. She is jointed at the 'shoulders' and she has a swivel head. Her fur is wearing thin in places and the pouch has been stitched up. A manufacturer's ribbon label is sewn to her right 'foot'. This record is associated with CMS record number 672383 (Photograph and letter).
Provenance
A gift to the National Trust Museum of Childhood by Caroline Langsdale in 2019. The previous owner was the donor's brother, Richard Morris (1931-2000), who later became LT. Col. Richard Quinton Mull Morris O.B.E. Kanga was a present to Richard Quintin Morris aged three and a half years, from his uncle Dr. John Morris of Chayleigh Hospital Sussex.
