Summary
The original cardboard box packaging for a ceramic figure of the Brambly Hedge character Wilfred Toadflax by Royal Doulton. The box has images of Brambly Hedge characters on the front and back above which is printed 'Jill Barklem's Brambly Hedge'. There is information about the Brambly Hedge collection printed on the sides of the box in English and French. On the top of the box is an image of a basket hanging on a branch with the words 'Royal Doulton' above and a logo of a lion and a crown. This logo is also on the sides of the box. The figure is part of a set made by Royal Doulton as merchandise for the popular Brambly Hedge book series.
Provenance
Purchased by the National Trust Museum of Childhood via ebay on 20th January 2017 as part of the Collecting Cultures 'Exploring Childhoods' project.
