Summary
A blue and white stripped school tie used on the children’s TV series Grange Hill. The inside of the bottom of the tie is lined in purple material that has the makers signature (Alic Brook) written on it several times. The back of the tie has a blue label sewn on that says 'MADE IN ENGLAND BY Alic Brook ADS (LONDON) LTD'. It also has the phone number (01-402-5671) and the materials (100% polyester). Grange Hill ran on the BBC from February 1978 until September 2008 and portrayed the fictional lives of pupils and teachers at Grange Hill School. This item was previously owned by the actor who played the character Terry Parker (‘Big Tel’) in the series.

Purchased by the National Trust Museum of Childhood from Ewbanks on 30th May 2019 as part of the Collecting Cultures 'Exploring Childhoods' project.
