Summary
A cardboard tube for Smarties sweets, decorated with images of Smarties. The tube has a yellow flip off lid which has the letter ‘B’ moulded on it. Originally made by Rowntree’s (now Nestle), the letters moulded onto the lids of Smarties tubes were intended to teach children the alphabet.
Provenance
Purchased by the National Trust Museum of Childhood via ebay on 10th March 2019 as part of the Collecting Cultures 'Exploring Childhoods' project.
