Summary
A vinyl record, the album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles. The album comes with two protective paper sleeves, one designed by the Dutch design collective The Fool, inside an outer gatefold style cardboard sleeve designed by the English pop artists Peter Blake and Jann Haworth using photographs taken by Michael Cooper. Also contained with the record are two sheets of cardboard cut out shapes also designed by Blake and Haworth. This is a first UK pressing of the album (catalogue number PMC 7027) and was recorded in mono sound.
Provenance
Vinyl record recorded by The Beatles between 6th December 1966 and 21st April 1967. Released by the Parlophone Record Company on 26th May 1967 with a gatefold sleeve designed by Peter Blake and Jann Howarth using photographs by Michael Cooper. Also with an inner sleeve designed by the Dutch design collective The Fool.Purchased by The National Trust Museum Of Childhood from Discogs on 3rd November 2017 as part of the Collecting Cultures 'Exploring Childhoods' project.
