Summary
A marionette puppet of an 'Arabian' male character, made for the Lilliput Marionette Theatre Company. The puppet has a head made from modelling material, with moulded hair and facial features. His facial details are painted on and he has white and black eyes, pink lips and a black beard and eyebrows. His body, arms and legs are made of wood, jointed at the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, waist, hips, knees and ankles. His body, hands, feet and lower legs are painted a dark brown/purple colour. His hands and feet are made of modelling. He is wearing a white cotton shirt over a short, embroidered purple felt top, and long, cream, hessian-type shorts. Around his waist is a wide sash, with long ends, made from red crêpe fabric, and on his head is a large purple, pink, orange and blue silk turban. He has a metal ring in each side of his head, to which lengths of thin string are attached. He has no control.
