Summary
The base of the original box for the fabric doll catalogued as 671990.1.1. It is made from cardboard, the sides of which are covered in colour-printed paper. This has brightly-coloured animals such as camels, elephants and tigers on a black background, along with 'BRITISH MADE' printed in black on tiny white rectangles. On one end of the box is an oval label giving the manufacturers' details and company logo. Over this is stuck the retailer's label, which is white and has, printed in blue 'I. H. STAMM DOLLS' HOUSE 28 ARGYLL ARCADE (BUCHANAN STREET) GLASGOW C. 2. Telephone 134 Central'. Handwritten on this label are details of the contents (given in 'Markings').
