Summary
A rectangular wooden box with a hinged lid for a magic lantern. The exterior of the box is stained dark brown. There is a black painted metal carrying handle attached to the centre of the lid. The lid is fastened close by two metal hooks which latch onto screws. There is a metal disc with a hole in the centre attached to the front of the box. The hole is pierced through the front of the box. A printed sheet of paper entitled 'Instructions to be observed when using Optical Lanterns with oil lamps' is stuck to the inside of the lid with an advertisement for a magic lantern book stamped in ink on the lid by its side. Small gold coloured knob loose in box.
