Summary
A child's cotton quilt embroidered by Stoke Embroiderer's Guild, circa 2013. It is embroidered with scenes from various nursery rhymes using a variety of patterned fabrics and colours of embroidery thread. The base fabric is cream coloured. The name of the nursery rhyme character of a quote from the nursery rhyme has been embroidered by each scene. Each scene has been embroidered onto individual sections of fabric which have then been sewn together forming a patchwork. A white paper label printed with black ink has been sewn onto the back of one corner. There are some dirty marks on the front.
Provenance
Donated to the Museum of Childhood by Lady Nancy Bagot in August 2013.
