Summary
A wooden scooter (circa 1900) with wooden wheels and painted with black lines for decoration. The scooter was given to the donor's children in 1968 by a lady who lived in a very large mansion called 'The Towers' (formerly 'Forest Villa') which was to be demolished. The donor believes the scooter was discovered with other toys and ancient tools in an outhouse of the mansion.
Provenance
Donated to the Museum of Childhood by Elwyn Bowles in December 2010.
