Summary
The box for a toy sewing machine made by Mueller and possibly dating from the 1930's. The box comes in two pieces, with a base and detachable lid. At one side of the base is a fixed insert making a raised section of box in which threads, needles and the thimble are kept. The box is made of cardboard and covered in red coloured marble effect paper. On the lid is a scene of a young girl using a sewing machine with her mother and dog looking on. Inside the lid are a number of loops of elastic with which samples of fabric and ribbon are held in place.
