Summary
The trousers of a child-size 'Lifeguard' uniform worn by the donor, born 1943, when aged about five or six. It is possibly home-made, but second-hand when the donor received it. He was living in Harrow, Middlesex at the time. As well as the trousers, the uniform comprises a jacket and a plumed helmet. The trousers are made of a course navy blue fabric with shiny red braid down the side of each leg. The trousers are fastened at the front with plastic buttons and has matching buttons around the waistline.
Provenance
Worn by the donor in circa 1948-1949 when aged about 5-6. Donated to the Museum of Childhood by Mr R. Wildsmith in October 2010.
