Summary
A hair slide for a doll, made from tortoiseshell with a metal clasp (circa 1935 -1940). The donor remembers it in her sister's Shirley Temple doll's hair. They each had a Shirley Temple doll, bought in Egypt when the family was living in Alexandria (from Hamley's).
Provenance
Owned by the donor as a child, and bought when in living in Alexandria, Egypt between 1935-1940 from Hamley's, and donated to the National Trust Museum of Childhood by Miss Carolyn Dee in March 2012.
